Part of their mission statement is what helped me with the design for this new logo. “PALE is the crown worn by traditional dancers. In Tongan, PALE means reward or shield. The implication is that education can be the crown, reward, or shield in terms of protecting and preparing Pacific Islander youth for the future.”
I shot them 4 renditions of this concept and this is the logo they chose from the bunch. What i like about this design is the simplicity of the design and the touch of web 2.0 in the shield. The part of this logo that i like visually the most is the woven pattern connecting the shield to the crown combining all elements PALE in one iconic logo.
